The entire Bible is the inspired word of God and is the only all sufficient guide of faith and practice for the Christian. It teaches that this life is a probationary period given to each person, and it is to be used in preparing for the life that is to come. We are to be faithful stewards of that which God has given us, whether it be time, talent, health, or wealth. Because we have accepted Jesus as our Savior and have experienced the new birth, we are constrained by our love for our Lord to:
- live in obedience to the 10 Commandments of God, including the one requiring the observance of the seventh-day, Saturday, as the Sabbath. Genesis 2:2,3; Exodus 20:8-11; John 14:15; Matthew 5:17-19; Mark 2:27.
- expect the soon coming of Jesus in the clouds of heaven with the angels as a visible and literal return that will be anything but secret. John 14:1-3; Matthew 24; Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 1:7
- study the Bible daily so as to foster a growth in grace that our Christian experience might not remain in the immature state it was in when we were first converted. 1 Peter 2:2,3; 2 Peter 1:5-10.
- expect the Holy Spirit to be active today in the conversion of sinners, in convicting us of sin, in fostering a growth in grace, and also imparting various gifts that the church might grow in quality and in number. John 16:7,8; 1Corinthians 12;Ephesians. 4:12,13
- believe that those who die are in an unconscious state in their graves, awaiting one of the resurrections yet to come. Psalm 146:4, 1 Timothy 6:15; Ecclesiastes 9:5,6; 1Thessalonians 4:13-18; Ezekiel 18:4; 1 Corinthians 15:20,26; Revelation 20:5
- understand that every Christian is to take seriously the matter of church membership. The church is the body of Christ and must be treated with respect. We aim to be responsible members of our church by supporting it with our presence, our influence, our monies and voluntary service. Ephesians 1:22,23; Malaqui 23:23; 1 Corinthians 9:13,14
- believe baptism by immersion is the outward sign of joining Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection. It is symbolic of washing away of our sins, and is also the means of joining the body of Christ. Romans 6:3-6
8. believe that the prophetic portions of the Bible indicate that we are in the last part of earth's history.
